The Virgin Suicides is hauntingly beautiful, with the Lisbon sisters described in such detail that they seem as palpable as the book itself. This novel is poetic in its discussion of issues that arise from growing up and losing one's innocent and naivete.

Untamed is one of the most important and influencial books to have graced my shelves. This book has helped me find myself again, particularly as a young woman, and I strongly believe that Doyle's stories and messages will resonate with all of its readers, both men and women alike.
This book is easily one of my favorites of all time, and I applaud Wood's bravery and honesty in this memoir. Whether you loved, hated, or never even read Nabokov's Lolita, everyone should invest in this book; light is shed upon the true themes of Lolita, as well as the overarching imbalance of power between men and women.
It is truly fascinating to read about how different the treatment and stimaga around mental heath was in the 1960's. Kaysen's account of her time in a mental hospital was a thoroughly enjoyable read that I finished within a day; I found that the most driving part of her memoir was the friendships she made during such a changing and dificult time.
