A stunning, delightful conclusion to a marvelous series. I was completely swept away and didn't land until it was over. Arden continues weaving her magic here with compelling and loveable characters, a vivid setting, excellent worldbuilding, and heart-stopping action. It's hard for us bookworms to pick our favorites, but this is by far my favorite series. So, if you're not caught up, go read The Bear and the Nightingale, then The Girl in the Tower, then come back here and find me so we can gush about it together.

What a fun ride. This book follows a charming cast of characters as they seek an enchanted artifact to gain their leader's inheritance back. Chokshi creates a really interesting world that takes place in late 1800s Paris that is threaded with both real history and magic. Her writing was lovely and engaging, and I can't wait to follow this found family for a few more books.

Wow. I adored this book. Set in the unsteady streets of pre-Revolution Paris, Camille is forced to take care of her siblings in the wake of their parents' unfortunate deaths. She possess a small amount of la magie that allows her to turn petty objects into coins for just a few hours--long enough to find food and pay rent, but when her brother turns on her, that road is no longer an option. She must face bigger magic and more dangerous stakes: gambling in the court of King Lous XVI and Marie Antoinette. Glittering and delightful, this book was magic from start to finish.

A refreshing, sweeping Arthurian epic, very familiar to Mists of Avalon fans. This tale follows Languoreth, twin sister to Lailoken--who will grow up to be the magician known as Merlin--as they navigate their youth during a restless time in history. The characters are fully fleshed out and complex, the politics intriguing, and the narrative fascinating. I definitely recommend!

Schwab creates a beautiful, alternative world here, with four different Londons--Red, White, Black and Grey--and only a few people who can travel between the four. Kell is one of these people, and serves as an ambassador for Red London. He is also a smuggler between worlds, and when one of these exchanges goes wrong, his path crosses with Delilah Bard in Grey London, and his life changes. I loved this book and this world, and I definitely encourage fantasy readers to pick this series up if they haven't yet.

A rather interesting Medusa retelling, this book follows Milla who has always felt like a little bit of an outcast. Sheltered away on her family's farm, she knows no one else besides her family. When a girl from town comes to stay, she learns that a demon curses the town, and will possess girls at random. Now she must find her strength to learn how to defeat the darkness and free her new friends. This read like a childhood fairytale, and is a fun twist on a classic character.

Published: Broadway Books - October 16th, 2018

I don't even care that it's not December anymore. This book is a mug of hot chocolate with a few extra marshmallows, the comfiest hand-knitted blanket your loved one made you, and the crackling of a fire on a snowing, winter's night. It's warm and cozy wrapped up in a book, it's the love child of Love Actually and Bridget Jones. Read it and feel your heart grow three sizes.
