Local Author Partnership Program

The Doylestown Bookshop and Lahaska Bookshop operate as separate entities as it pertains to the Local Author Partnership Program. As such, should an author choose to have their books carried at both locations, they will need to submit a signed agreement at both locations.

  • An author may sell books at both the Doylestown Bookshop and the Lahaska Bookshop at each bookshops discretion, but each store requires a separate agreement.
  • The author agrees to pay a one-time $15.00 processing fee to participate in the Local Author Partnership Program.
  • A signed consignment agreement for each title is to be submitted to either the Doylestown Bookshop or the Lahaska Bookshop.
  • The Lahaska Bookshop or Doylestown Bookshop will carry a maximum of three unique titles from each author.
  • An author may provide up to 3 copies of each title.
  • The author will establish the retail sale price for each title that is carried by the Lahaska Bookshop or the Doylestown Bookshop.
  • The distribution of monies from the sale of each book will be 60% of retail sale price to the author and 40% of retail sale price to the Lahaska Bookshop or the Doylestown Bookshop.
  • The Lahaska/Doylestown Bookshop will provide a sales report and check for any copies sold on a quarterly basis (January, April, July, and October).
  • The Lahaska Bookshop and Doylestown Bookshop agrees to carry each title it accepts on consignment for a minimum of six months. If, at any point, a consignment title goes six months without any sales activity, the Lahaska Bookshop or Doylestown Bookshop will pull the book from its shelves and contact the author to pick up the unsold copies.Upon contact, the author will have sixty days to pick up their unsold books. If the books are not picked up within that 60-day period, the Lahaska Bookshop or Doylestown Bookshop reserves the right to dispose of the books as it sees fit.
  • The Doylestown Bookshop or Lahaska Bookshop agrees
    • to display one title of the authors choosing on a front of store display for a one-month period.
    • to create a listing of the book on DoylestownBookshop.com
  • The author agrees to provide a link on their website to the book’s page on DoylestownBookshop.com and to promote the availability of their book at either the Doylestown Bookshop or the Lahaska Bookshop.
  • Participation in the Local Author Partnership Program is required in order to be eligible to have an event hosted by the Lahaska Bookshop or the Doylestown Bookshop.
  • The Lahaska Bookshop or Doylestown Bookshop is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged books and will only pay for copies sold through our point of sale system.
