What does a Literary Agent really do for writers? What do you need to know before you contact an agent? And is an agent right for you and your writing career right now? Literary Agent Marie Lamba will offer a peek behind the curtain at the many things agents do for their clients and at how writers can help themselves when approaching agents and seeking publication.

Marie Lamba is a Literary Agent at The Jennifer De Chiara Literary Agency in New York City (www.jdlit.com), where she represents picture books, middle grade and young adult fiction, along with general and women's fiction and some memoir. The list of publishers she's secured deals with include Scholastic, Harper Collins, Simon & Schuster, Kensington, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Algonquin, and others. Marie is also the author of the young adult novels What I Meant… (Random House) and Over My Head (which are both set in Doylestown!), and Drawn, and of the upcoming picture books Green, Green (Farrar Straus Giroux, 2017), and On a Day So Gray (Clarion, pub date TBD) . Her work appears in the short story anthology Liar Liar (Mendacity Press), and her articles are in more than 100 publications including national magazines such as Writer’s Digest, Garden Design and RWR. She has worked as an editor, an award-winning public relations writer, and a book publicist, has taught classes on novel writing and on author promotion, and belongs to The Liars Club. Marie's books will be available for sale at The Doylestown Bookshop, and you can visit her at www.marielamba.com.

Visit our CrowdCast page to learn more>>.

At some of our well-attended or off-site ticketed events, you can expect to stand in line for upwards of two hours and sometimes longer. If you have an issue that prevents you from standing in line for that length of time, please contact us immediately so that we can better accommodate you at the event.
