Doylestown: Return to the Moon // Activity Hour

"Houston, Tranquillity Base here. The Eagle has landed."
With those words on July 20, 1969, we accomplished the nearly impossible and landed a lunar module on the surface of the moon. Soon after, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin would become the first two people to ever set foot on the moon.
This year is the 50th anniversary of this historic event and to celebrate, we are hosting our Return to the Moon activity hour, which will feature some history, refreshments, and some moon-centric fun. See below for complete details.

Event Details
Event Time: July 20, 2019, 11:00 am Tuesday, July 23rd, 3:30 pm at the Doylestown Bookshop
Recommended Ages: 5-12 years old
The program will include a brief history and background of the Apollo 11 space mission, a showing of a video of the landing, and registrants will also receive:
  • A book about space or the moon - see here for book choices;
  • Space postcards or posters;
  • Moon Activities - Kids will learn about the phases of the moon and make their own Moon phase calendar. Other activities may include moon rocks or a cardboard Moon rover;
  • Refreshments (yes, there will most definitely be TANG!).
