I have little interest in non-fiction, but having such a personal interest in Apple I figured this would be an appropriate biography to read. It was truly great, definitely worthy of all the hype and it being a NYT bestseller week after week. So definitely fall in line with the rest of the world and read all about Steve Jobs. I mean, he literally has changed the world, and altered the way we use and perceive computers, phones and technology. You just might learn something from this absolute genius...

It's like reading an incredible historical Russian fiction, but instead of it being written in the late 19th century it was written in the 2000s. And its just as good and powerful and moving. After reading it I felt like I'd experienced the cold of Leningrad and seen my comrades get their heads blown off in front of my face as I hid, scared.

What can you really say about Tintin? It is pure comic fun. The recent movie was mind-blowing as it maintained an authentic Tintin vibe the whole time, and instead of just using the computer animation to exploit, well, computer animation's abilities, it simply brought Tintin to life in a way its never been before. The third comic in this set, Secret of the Unicorn, is half the storyline of the film.

Imagine you are a HUGE Harry Potter or Narnia or LOTR nerd. Now imagine that it is COMPLETELY real. And that world exists, and you have an opportunity to become a part of it. But when you do become a part of it, its not exactly what you thought it'd be. It's extremely real and dramatic and serious and not in any way fun or silly or whimsical. That is what poor Quentin goes through in this unique fantasy for those of you who always felt like there should be more to the world, that there should be magic, somewhere...

John Green truly knows how to write fiction - note that I didn't say Young Adult fiction, but just fiction. Yes, it is written primarily for teens, but his depth of characters, use of symbolism, and a blatant respect for the English language separates it from that genre entirely. His dialogue pushes the story along almost as if it were a screenplay, with believable characters that allow you to reminisce about the 'good old days', and a storyline that is utterly unique and enticing and literally hard to push yourself away from. You should also read his latest The Fault in Our Stars.

The epic conclusion to the Millennium Trilogy finds Lisbeth confined to a hospital bed with a bullet lodged in her brain, while Blomkvist and practically every decent-minded character we've met in the series tries to take down, well, the corrupt underworld of Sweden. The tension that builds is so frustratingly suspenseful that each time I turn the page I'm literally worried about what may happen.

Two of the greatest short-stories. Ever. Written by the greatest short-story writer. Franny is my favorite short-story, and I try to read it every few weeks.
