Book Description: When Dash finds a red moleskin notebook nestled in the shelves at The Strand, he hardly suspects that what begins as a game (accepting the first dare) could turn into something real. Sixteen year old Lily doesn’t think anything will come of her family’s efforts to keep her occupied over the holidays—and maybe find love—by planting this red notebook on the shelves. Yet in a New York minute, these two polar opposite teens become intertwined as they set off on a city-wide scavenger hunt. Soon the two are not only accepting each other’s dares, but revealing their innermost thoughts through handwritten notes in their shared notebook. Is Dash, a gruff teenaged boy who detests the holidays, the right guy for Lily, the sweet girl who lives for holiday cheer? Will their in-person selves connect with their notebook versions, or are they on the path to total disaster?

Snappy dialogue told in alternating he-said, she-said chapters, DASH & LILY’S BOOK OF DARES is brimming with spontaneity and wit, while sprinkled with just enough romance. Cohn and Levithan will yet again keep readers hooked as they tell the story of a quest to see if true love is all it’s cracked up to be.
